Renee Barros is a Community Engagement Director for Shatterproof based in Chicago. She leads engagement with fundraisers, sponsors, community partners, participants and volunteers for the Chicago Rise Up Against Addiction 5k Walk/Run and other events in the Region.  

Prior to joining Shatterproof, Renee was the Midwest Walk Director for Food Allergy Research and Education and she oversaw all of the event production and fundraising for the Food Allergy Heroes Walks in the Midwest region. Before joining FARE, Renee was the the Race Director for the Ride for AIDS Chicago, a 2-day, 200 mile cycling event. Renee got her start in nonprofit by overseeing all fundraising and event production for Team RMHC in the Chicago Marathon for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
