The National Addiction Memorial honors the loved ones we’ve lost.

Christopher had a sweet heart and always up for an adventure. He always loved being with family.

There are so many memories. Favorite memory that made me laugh so much was running into the cold ocean on Thanksgiving because we dared him

I miss his deep conversations about anything.

Chris was a kind soul.

Tyler was so friendly and SMART! He loved music, cooking, his daughter, writing, but most of all just laughing and hanging out with family and friends.

I’ll miss his laugh and him calling me Momma more than anything.

He was a strong person that would bend over backwards to help the ones he loved. He was funny. He loved deeply. He worked hard and played harder.

One time a our grandparents house I came running when I heard him screaming. He was standing on a recliner yelling about a scorpion. I looked and saw the crayfish escaped the tank. I scooped it back in and he climbed down.

I miss his laugh, his hugs, the dumb things he would say, how much he cared.

"I was the guy everybody said wouldn't amount to nothing. Now, I'm the guy that's proving them wrong."

A woman who loved chubby things, tortoises and life;Sent to me to show me that I'd be truly loved no matter how many times I made those mistakes. Her friend asked why she was with me because I was ugly and fat? She replied; cause I feel safe with him

Our walls at Turtle Bay where I worked and ever time she walked the dock a painted turtle, she named "Picasso" would always come out and see her. One day the guys I worked with caught Picasso after B left and said theu we're gonna eat him. They placed him in a bucket outside on the dock. So when I took my break from dishes to take out the trash; I released him. I told her that night whatp happened and she was happy I let him go but was sad when she said " I don't want him to come see me anymore.

Hearing her snore as my mind raced with torment and I knew she wasn't being tortured like I was.

A mother who'd do anything to show her children they would forever be loved.

He was stubborn and fierce but you always knew he cared and he would always be there to protect you or make you laugh when needed. He was an awesome brother

Him calling me to make him dinners and choosing to hangout with his boring older sister made me feel special

He’s determined assertive personality and his sense of humor and kind heart

For his crazy fun outgoing personality and his love for his friends and family

Michael was my youngest. His father has multiple addictions and passed from Alcoholism. Michael had a green thumb and could grow anything, loved to play guitar and adored Metallica. He was a young father of one boy who misses he daddy more than he can put into words. Michael was always a very busy, outdoors kid and sitting still was not in his make up. We struggled for many years with his addictions and sadly the last few years of his short life were more than difficult for him. This breaks my heart and I just can't replace my child no matter how hard I wish it.

His smile and Laughter were contagious. I miss his big carefree smile

Having him period, I will always miss his presence

Remember him by hearing music and letting it fill you with joy and wonder

James helped people. He cared .he worked for his life . His life was hard having addiction and alcoholism in his family. He would take his shirt off his back for you .he was a proud man , but hid his depression

James always loved April 8th.the day his mom (me) got clean in 2002 . He finally had his mom . He always hugged me and told me things would be alright and to keep doing what I was doing , when I asked him to go to councelling with me . There are too many memories of James that were great. I miss him so much.we had so much life left to grow into a living relationship

His calls from bottom of my balcony . ." Throw down your keys mom" and his calls when he said " you make any dinner mom ?". I miss uss growing in a relationship

As a strong man who got on the wrongside but always always cared for his family , especially his grandparents .uncle and aunt.

Amazing man, amazing father, and an absolute blast to be around. He was funny, outgoing and loved his daughter. I'd give the world to see his smile one more time.

Having our first child together. Just every moment with him.

Everything.

Kerri was a beautiful, energetic loving young woman. She was my best friend. She had a smile that lit up a room & would do anything for those around her. She loved to read & was a gifted writer. She wanted to raise awareness of SUD & help others.

There are so many memories that I can't pick just one! There's the time she thought she discovered a new band that turned out to be Bon Jovi or the time her dad brought home an abandoned kitten. I told her once when she was mad that you catch more bees with honey. She responded that a fly swatter worked better. Finally one time she was so mad at me & she called me on mother's day to tell me I was her mom and she'd always love me - no matter what.

I will miss her sense of humor and just talking to her for hour upon hour regardless of the time. She knew me better than I know myself and I will miss the amazing bond and connection we had.

Kerri wrote an essay on her senior year of high school and in it said she wanted to be remembered as the girl who was always willing to help anyone find the same meaning in their own life as she found in hers, the girl who always had a good time, no matter what situation she was in & the girl who found her way to the top without the pressures of society influencing how she got there.

My brother was the kindest person I ever knew, with a heart bigger than life itself putting everyone before himself, always.

It’s hard to choose just one memory to mark as my favorite… We did everything together. We were the best-friend kind of siblings.

Everything.

He would want to be remembered for his laugh, his kindness, and his music.

He was someone that felt he never had a place in this world. He would always say he would never be more than a season in anyone's life. But despite that he gave everything to anyone that needed help. He was compassionate, and wise beyond his years

Our first date. We didn't plan on doing anything we actually were trying to get away from my ex at the moment and came up on a bowling alley with an arcade. We spent the next 3-4 hours in the arcade and completely forgot about the world around us. I had never laughed more than I did that night. And we spent our tickets on stickers, bubblegum, and walked into a love I will never share nor feel eve again. He changed my entire life.

The way he would call me just to talk about whatever was on his mind. He told me he hoped he never lost the ability to hear the sound of my voice.

As a child of God. He would want to be remembered for his heart of gold even though he was never able to see how much he actually meant in this world.

When she was in recovery and we had her back again

Her crazy hair, her eyes, her smile and the best sense of humor

She would like to be remembered as a loving sister to Lily and granddaughter to her Memaw and Papa and Grandma and Grandpa Phoenix

Brice was a beautiful soul that was lost in this world. She went thru a lot. She and her newborn son passed away together. The child was still born and Brice was found dead overdosed in the hospital bathroom two days later. FOREVER 23

The day she came and told me she was having her first baby. It was my birthday and the best gift I got.

Her laugh. Her smile. Her silliness. Everything. Just everything.

Brice was a living kind caring person. She was funny and was always joking or messing around. She was YOUNG. I remember her so full of life before the fent took over.

He was always willing to help anyone.....even when they weren't good to him, he had the biggest heart and loved fixing things

My favorite memories of him are all the nights we stayed up talking and finding out everything we could about each other

His warm arms wrapped around me.

Eli cared deeply for others, he’d give the shirt off his back. He’s was very intelligent and one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.

When Eli was in preschool is teacher told me what had happened that day. She saw Eli sitting and having lunch with a little girl instead of his usual friends. When she asked him why he was sitting with her, he said that she had used her cutes on him and he couldn’t help it. He was such an adorable little guy.

I will mis his big hugs and always telling me he loved me.

He would want his friends to know how deeply he loved them.

Gabe had an infectious laugh and big smile. Loved his family. He was full of life. We lost him 10 years ago 💙

Dan was so loving, sweet, kind and smart. He got along with everyone, so likable, friendly, emotionally intelligent, affectionate, and happy with a great sense of humor. He loved to eat, play sports and be around his whole family. He is special.

Special occasions with family

Everything! His laugh, his sense of humor, his hugs, his warmth.

Dan, I think, would like to be remembered as a person of integrity, who was respectful, honest, sincere and kind.
