Bahl PhD

Dr. Bahl is the senior vice president of Clinical Alliances, and responsible for leading Magellan’s efforts to strengthen clinical advocacy and scientific innovation in cooperation with the Magellan Cares Foundation. She serves as a member of the Clinical Committee, which establishes governing principles and reviews key initiatives across Magellan’s business units. As part of the Magellan Studio Advisory Board, Dr. Bahl helps consider innovation from a clinical perspective, with a focus on how the integration of physical, behavioral and pharmacy services impacts the lives of consumers Magellan serves and the communities in which they live. 

She is an experienced healthcare executive with over three decades leading operations, market strategy, business development, network development and the direct delivery of care. Dr. Bahl was an early participant in the managed behavioral health care industry, at American Biodyne. She led a private practice which employed psychologists and social workers, in her home town, Miami, Florida. She serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of Shatterproof, a non-profit which reduces stigma and raises awareness of addiction. 

Prior to joining Magellan Health, she spent 29 years at Optum, in increasing areas of responsibility and was part of the Optum Behavioral Health Senior Leadership Team. During her tenure at Optum she led the Consultant Advisory Board, co-led the Customer Advisory Council, served as an executive sponsor to large employers and state governments, and led sales teams. She was honored with a lifetime achievement for sales contribution at Optum, and as the Corporate Leader by Moffly Media at their 2018 Annual Women in Business Conference. Dr. Bahl has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami.
