Shatterproof’s Rise Up Against Addiction 5K Walk/Run in Atlanta was held on Saturday, November 2nd, the fifth in the 2019 event series. Supporters and participants joined together at Piedmont Park to honor family and friends lost to addiction disease as well as to celebrate those navigating the journey of recovery.
The program began with an energizing warm-up session led by Delaine Ross of The Phoenix, a free sober active community that has inspired more than 26,000 people across America to believe they have the strength to rise from the ashes of addiction through the support of those who are walking that very same path. Speakers included emcee Keisha Lancelin with CW69, Shatterproof Development Director Susan Wynne, and Shatterproof Ambassadors Tracy Sims and Christi Gregory.
Participants kicked off the walk/run by collectively reciting the Shatterproof Pledge, led by ShatterproofAmbassadors Dave Laws and Kim Allison. Sponsors included Alkermes, Indivior, Lightbox (AdScapes), Pacira - Plan Against Pain, UnitedHealth Group, AllMed Healthcare Management, Braeburn, Chubb, Emergent Biosolutions, Cigna, ICG Advisors, JP Morgan Chase, Lockton, IHG Hotels and Resorts CBRE, Sprouts, Mako Medical, CW 69.
