Atlanta Unites to Rise Up Again!

The 2nd annual Rise Up Against Addiction 5K Walk/Run event in Atlanta united over 1,200 people on November 3, 2018, from all over the city to bring the disease of addiction into the light and help transform treatment in America. Participants gathered at Piedmont Park to honor lost loved ones, celebrate recovery journeys, connect with families affected by addiction, and walk or run 5 kilometers.

On the chilly, fall morning, teams were all smiles as they wore matching t-shirts and took selfies in front of the Celebrate Recovery Wall.

Families and friends stopped by the Memorial Gallery to read about their loved ones lost to addiction and add their own contributions.

Supporters also stopped by the Community Village to collect resources from several local organizations at the event. These groups are doing important work throughout the Atlanta community to help families devastated by addiction.

Several companies sponsored the event, and we’re grateful for all their support and their commitment to saving lives by working with Shatterproof to put an end to the disease of addiction: Alkermes and Pacira – Plan Against Pain, Cigna, Indivior, and United Health Group, Adapt Pharma – Narcan Nasal Spray, Choice Hotels, Chubb, Dave & Buster’s, JP Morgan Chase, Kaleo, Lockton, Vineyard Vines, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, IHG, Mako Medical Laboratories, Windstream Enterprise, CW69, and Sprouts.
