Finding addiction or mental health support can feel overwhelming, not because help doesn’t exist, but because it isn’t always easy to find care that feels safe, respectful, and culturally responsive.

Many people face barriers when seeking support, including cost, limited access to care, and stigma around asking for help. On top of these barriers, information is often disjointed and incomplete. That is why we gathered trusted addiction and mental health resources designed to meet Black individuals, families, and communities where they are with dignity, clarity, and care.

Whether you’re looking for treatment, crisis support, culturally responsive therapy, or community-based resources for you or a loved one, the options below are here to help you find support that works.

A Note on Seeking Support

Black communities have long supported one another through care, faith, creativity, and collective resilience. Today, more culturally responsive mental health and addiction resources exist than ever before, and seeking help is not a weakness, failure, or moral shortcoming. It’s a step toward care, clarity, and well-being.

At Shatterproof, our work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to evidence-based, compassionate addiction care.

If you or someone you love needs support, we hope this list helps make that first step a little easier.
