Ellen Duffey (she/her) is the Senior Contract Manager at Shatterproof. She is responsible for the cross-departmental management of all Shatterproof contracts.
Ellen is a dedicated advocate for individuals in recovery, drawing from her personal experiences with substance use and the profound impact of losing loved ones to substance use disorder (SUD). She joins us from Faces & Voices of Recovery, where she was responsible for managing and administering all contracts and renewals.
During her tenure as the manager of the volunteer department at a local humane society, her favorite initiative was coordinating long-term foster homes for the pets of individuals seeking residential treatment for behavioral health or substance use disorder, as well as those leaving unsafe housing situations. This experience underscored the vital importance of community support for individuals seeking help, leading Ellen to refocus her efforts to better assist them.
Her commitment to supporting recovery extends to her involvement in supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Recognizing the elevated risk of substance use issues within the LGBTQ+ community due to stress stemming from stigma and discrimination, she committed to becoming part of the solution.
Based in Western MA, Ellen loves outdoor adventures, anything from hiking in the Berkshires to playing in the ocean. When at home, her nose is usually buried in a book, and her rescue dog, Indy, is never far from her side.
