Tell us about your loved one.
Josh was a kind loving brother. A supportive and protective friend. A funny loving son. He could dance, loved music. He lit up a room with his smile. All who knew him loved him beyond measure. We are lost without him. xo
Tell us about Joshua's struggle with addiction
Josh started experimenting with alcohol and drugs at a young age 13 or so. He really started using different substances at 15 and struggled through high school. He got his diploma and worked for three years for a plumber until his addiction caused him to lose work and he was fired. He got bad after that and when he was 23 he got arrested several times. He detoxed in jail for the first time, and spent time in 5 detoxes after that. His last stay was 6 months at a sober house. He stayed clean for 8 months. We thought he was ok but, an addict is never really ok. He was found in his bed. He had been dead for several hours. There was no saving him.
What made Joshua smile?
His girlfriend Gianna, his dog Lilah, his many many friends. He made everyone smile. He was funny, kind and would do anything for you.
What do you miss most about Joshua?
His sense of humor. He was a lot like me, we understood each other. He never got ruffled when I got upset. He would just say "ma, calm down, it's ok". I miss his hugs. They were incomparable.
