Hooked tells a dramatic story of Jack Conroy’s battle with addiction, the family’s struggle to help him, and his untimely passing at age 21. This film delivers essential information to help save lives. Hooked explores the aftermath of Jack’s passing and the family’s journey through their grief. We sat down with the film’s director, Matthew Miele, as well as Jack’s mom, Barbara, and his sister, Grace, to talk about the film. The film was produced by Quixotic Endeavors and directed by Matthew Miele.

Lauren Sisler is a two-time national award-winning sports broadcaster who joined ESPN and SEC Network in 2016 as a sideline reporter for both college football and gymnastics. In addition, she serves as a sports reporter and host at AL.com where she covers a multitude of teams and sports in the state of Alabama.
Lauren is passionate about sports, but even more passionate about telling the stories of the coaches, athletes, and fans who make it more than a game.
Her journey was not always full of victories and celebrations. In 2003 as a freshman at Rutgers University, tragedy struck Lauren’s world when she unexpectedly lost both of her parents within hours of each other to their concealed battle with addiction. Through her grief and despair, Lauren found the courage to continue moving forward and find success. Lauren now shares her story across the country in hopes of spreading awareness while breaking down the barriers that stand in the way of us living our best life.
Sisler, a native of Roanoke, Va., was the captain of her gymnastics team at Rutgers University and graduated in 2006 with a communication degree.

Wittels Wachs is the author of best-selling book Everything Is Horrible and Wonderful: A Tragicomic Memoir of Genius, Heroin, Love, and Loss, called “a powerful debut” by Kirkus. A reputable theater director and well-known voice actor appearing in countless anime series and movies, she now sits on the Board of Directors of Rec Room Arts, a performance space and national artist-residency program she co-founded in memory of her late brother, Parks & Recreation writer-producer-comedian Harris Wittels. She co-founded Lemonada Media with Jessica Cordova Kramer, because, Wittels Wachs says, “Community is a life jacket.”

Jessica Cordova Kramer is co-founder of Lemonada Media. She's served as executive producer of the Pod Save the People podcast, which has won multiple Webby awards. Cordova Kramer began her professional career as a Wall Street lawyer who moonlighted on pro bono domestic-violence and refugee cases, and worked for Teach For America and Teach For All for more than a decade. More recently, has been the Board Chair for Green Card Voices, an immigrant storytelling organization. Cordova Kramer lost her brother Stefano to a long battle with addiction, subsequently co-creating Lemonada with Stephanie Wittels Wachs. Its goal is, she says, “to make shows that help people get out of bed in the morning, that help people deal with the hardest things in their lives.”

As Senior Content Manager for Sesame Workshop's U.S. Social Impact group, Kama Einhorn develops multimedia outreach materials for children, parents, and providers. Prior to joining the Workshop, she wrote and edited early childhood teaching resources for Scholastic. She holds a master's degree in education from University of California at Berkeley.

Nicky Bondz is an artist from Long Island, New York, and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Nick is not only a talented artist, but incredibly intelligent. He is a third year PHD student who holds a master’s degree in psychology and is a few credits short of a PhD. He brings with him a decade of experience in academic writing and research with a focus on mental health, addiction and recovery. As an artist, Nick brings a creative wave alongside a razor-sharp focus and has started something inspiring by integrating his artistic side with his life experiences. Nick has been in recovery from Substance Use Disorder for 4 years and is passionate about helping others find sobriety.

Corey O'Brien is a professional dancer, content creator, model and advocate. In his career, Corey has performed for artists such as Iggy Azalea, Diddy, French Montana, Mariah Carey and more. Corey has toured all over the world performing in different productions and has danced on shows such as VH1's "Rupaul's Drag Race" and was a contestant on MTV's "Beyond Dance". He has modeled for various brands along with being featured in W Magazine, Dance Spirit Magazine and on the cover of publications such as Bello Magazine and Closet Mag.
Corey recently shared his story of addiction and road to recovery in OUT Magazine and launched an Instagram live series called "Isolated in Sobriety" where he has connected with others during quarantine to bring a message of hope and inspiration to those who need it. Corey is thrilled to team up with Shatterproof and be a voice in their Speaker Series.
