Chelsea's 'To Do' List

Carrie Vineyard
Tell us about your (or your loved one's) recovery journey. What has been the most rewarding part?

Chelsea's 'To Do' list:

"Pray. Count your blessings. Always be kind. Work hard at everything you do. Help when help is needed. Trust in God and do right by Him."

Late 2018, her list quickly changed: "Unloveable, tired, broken, lonely, rejected, sad." One experience with heroin and addiction immediately engulfed her. It took her health, relationships and freedom. She kept silent about her bondage, her prison cell - to all of us that she loved and cared about - because of the stigma.

'Chelsea's Crusade' - as I call it - has saved at least 3 lives. Rewarding for them to start crawling out of darkness to see light. Humbling that they trusted me with their secret darkness, knowing I wouldn't give up on them, and I will not abandon them... honoring the life of my daughter, Chelsea.

Do you have a message for the Shatterproof community?

Let's be kind. Let's be compassionate. Let's get loud. Let's encourage conversation. Let everyone in need know we are dedicated, passionate and willing to help fight the battle - no stigma attached.
