Mother's Day is bittersweet when you've lost a child, especially a preventative death like drug addiction. My son, Steven died January 2nd, 2017. He shot himself in the chest while sleeping with his finger on the trigger, high on Meth, he though someone was trying to kill him. He was 23 years old. From what I gather, this was the last hurrah before heading to live with his uncle to start his life over again. He had done this many times before, amongst many other attempts to get clean. The years were hard, but we did everything we could to support him without enabling him. In the end, he knew we loved him and supported him. So Mother's Day helps us celebrate those that have always been there for us. My wishes for those mother's out there supporting their children, no matter what, what you do matters.
