Sinclair method. No aa

Tell us about your (or your loved one's) recovery journey. What has been the most rewarding part?

I don’t use the word recovery, sober, clean, days clean, and, most of all, I don’t use addict. Twenty years ago I end up in a 12-step rehab. The place has since been closed. It was the first time in my 40 years that I saw what it was all about. I couldn’t list all the demeaning things that happened there. Forced meetings. Forced to say things on the phone, while they watched, forced to quit a job because they didn’t approve. It was more than harmful. I know I’m not the only one. Not many speak up. Long story short, after many years of my own research and a good therapist (non 12-step) I can finally take care of my real primary issue. I found the Sinclair Method through reading about it and the movie “One Little Pill”. It has been around for many years and works for many more people than 12-step does. Still not completely accepted in the US. Too bad.
