STOPPNow (Stop the Organized Pill Pushers) Now

Janet Colbert
Tell us about your (or your loved one's) recovery journey. What has been the most rewarding part?

As a neonatal nurse, I was caring for drug addicted babies in Broward County Florida, the epicenter of the opiate epidemic. I have since met too many parents that have buried their child. Get involved. The book STOPPNow details how this started and has been fueled by ignoring the opiate use for too long.

I just returned from Washington, DC for the Fed Up Rally. The memorial tribute was beautiful.

Some of you know I tried to get legislation passed in the last session in Tallahassee for limited opiate prescribing and was unsuccessful. When STOPPNow was first started there were 7 deaths/day in Florida; now someone is losing their loved one at the rate of 14 deaths/day in Florida.

S 892 was introduced in Washington, DC. The bill limits opiate prescribing to a seven day limit in those states that do not have something in place. FLORIDA. I urge you to call your Federal senators and representatives to support. 202 224-3041
(legislative aide Senator Marco Rubio

Senator Bill Nelson 202 224-5274

I can tell you after meeting with Rubio’s office while in Washington they seem content to leave things as they are. We need a louder voice.

I am now an author. Books can be purchased

Blessings to all
