Virginia Myers helped start the Bay Area Junior Council in August of 2021 and is currently a co-leader of the group. Virginia has been an active supporter of the recovery space for a number of years after she lost her dear friend and lifelong neighbor, William, to substance use disorder on Christmas Day in 2018.
In 2019, she got her start with Shatterproof more formally when she helped "Team William" raise over $100k for the Rise Up Against Addiction 5k in NYC.As an active member and leader of the Junior Council today, Virginia helps educate young people on the Shatterproof mission by advocating for more accessible science-based treatment and the de-stigmatization of substance use disorder. The team is actively recruiting and growing the team in the broader San Francisco area.
Originally from Connecticut and a graduate of University of Richmond's Robins School of Business, Virginia now lives in San Francisco and works at Apple. Outside of Apple & Shatterproof, Virginia spends her time hiking, cooking elaborate meals, and spending an increasing amount of time on yoga & holistic practices. Her energy feeds off of meeting new people and she welcomes the opportunity to grow her network. She is looking forward to what the future of Shatterproof in the Bay Area will look like.
