10 Things We're Thankful For

This year marks an important time in Shatterproof’s history – it’s the 10th year that we’ve been helping people who have been affected by addiction. During that time, we’ve supported life-saving legislation, created dozens of helpful resources, and made it easier to find addiction treatment. 

We are so thankful to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people who need it most. We have made so much progress over the last decade, and we’re especially grateful for… 

	Naloxone becoming widely available throughout the U.S.  People across the country now have access to a life-saving medication that can stop fatal opioid overdoses. This is a huge win that will have a lasting impact and help curb the overdose epidemic.
	Passing the MATE/MAT Act  Thanks to the MATE/MAT Act, federal doctors are now being trained to identify, treat, and manage patients who have addiction. The act also lowers barriers for prescription drugs that treat opioid dependence, making it easier than ever to access these medications.
	Our amazing donors   Your kindness and dedication are changing lives and bringing hope to those who need it most. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your support.
	Treatment Atlas expanding to 14 states   This tool is now available to millions of people, giving them broader access to addiction treatment. They can assess their needs and search for specific programs based on their insurance, location, patient reviews, best practices, and more.
	The National Addiction Memorial and everyone who has lost a loved one Our memorial has supported 3,296 families in honoring their loved ones. This memorial is the only one of its kind – a virtual space for families and friends to grieve, share stories, and find community.
	Our volunteers and ambassadors  Whether it’s setting up tables at a walk, getting the word out about a petition, or speaking at events – our volunteers and ambassadors have done it all. We are truly grateful to them for dedicating their time and energy to our cause.
	Our talented staff   Our mission wouldn't be possible without our employees. Their dedication, passion, and resilience continue to inspire us all. Every small step we take adds up to significant progress and, together, we can continue to make a profound impact on those in need.
	Everyone who has attended a Shatterproof Walk  Shatterproof Walks offer a place of community for everyone who has been affected by addiction – whether they're in recovery, looking for inspiration, or have a loved one with SUD. We're deeply grateful to everyone who walks alongside us.
	Educating the country about the dangers of fentanyl  Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is fueling overdose deaths, and misinformation about this drug has taken the internet by storm. Shatterproof and other organizations are working tirelessly to dispel these myths, promote awareness, and create resources for people who need them most.
	Everyone who shared their story to end stigma  People in active addiction need to hear stories of hope in order to know that a brighter future is possible. While it's never easy to share your story, we're deeply grateful to everyone who does.
