Joe was born with a purpose in life; to bring love and joy to the lives of those he met along the way. He took the burden from those he loved and carried their pain for them. Most importantly, he loved his family first.

My favorite memory was when he Joe was born. He came into the world with his eyes wide open and a hospital waiting room full of family & friends waiting to see him. It was one big party that day on 8/31/1990 and it stayed that way his entire 27 years of life. He lived every day as if it were his last, making friends, helping people, loving with his huge heart and smiling at the world in front of him.

His laugh and his smile and the touch of his arms hugging me, and his kisses on my forehead as I slept. Him telling me I love you Momma or hearing him tell his sisters or dad I love you. His compliments and acknowledgment of anything I had bought new. His coffee runs and laughter as he always brought back the wrong flavor. His stories that could last sometimes longer than 30 minutes. Mostly, our long chats about life and plans of the future and ending our convos with “we will always be a team.”

Joe was LOVE. He loved his family first and strong. He gave love, embraced love, and loved everything life had to offer. There was a sense of calmness and peace when in his presence. He loved music, art, and fashion, always the trendsetter. He listened attentively and could make someone feel as if they were the only person in a room when talking to him. Joe made every day brighter and better. He had a certain kind of “vibe” and he shared that vibe with everyone who loved him. He’s Always Here.

As so much more than an addict. A tender soul. A generous heart. A lover of animals and all he held dear.

He was funny an incredibly talented musician, Who could often be seen wearing his banjo like a part of himself. He was so loved and loving, at the same time tormented by the demons that eventually took him from us. He had such a great smile & laugh.

Just sitting with him hanging out talking or listening to him play music.

As someone who tried to do the right thing, who wanted to and for who he was with an acceptance that that made him good enough

He was a wonderful son he was the oldest of all my 6 children...He was a momma's boy and always will be..He was very talented with writing his own songs as well as singing them..He was also great playing basketball and it was a sport he loved .

When he first started walking and climbed in the bathtub with his clothes on..

His funny personality,the way he loved his 3 younger brothers and his younger twin sisters,the way he laughed and called me mommy,and how he was such a wonderful person and his friends lived him dearly.

In his music,his videos,and just the photos that I have of him..

She was an angel who fully gave to everyone around her. She left nothing for herself, so it left her vulnerable to addiction. She was so loved, such a good mom, friend, daughter, person. Words cannot convey the light she held.
