Daniel Elijah Figueroa
What Daniel was like
Elijah was thoughtful, generous, handsome, hilarious, and incredibly smart. A believer in Christ and a loving son, he dreamed of helping others. He brought love and laughter. He was Mama’s greatest gift, and I thank God for choosing me as his mother.
Fondest memories of Daniel
My favorite memories are watching Elijah play as a little boy, pretending to be Batman or Spider-Man, and seeing my little bookworm lost in his books. He was smart, humble, gifted, and hilarious, always doing silly things to make me laugh. I loved watching him shine onstage. He had the sweetest soul and always made me feel special on Mother’s Day and birthdays. Elijah was only 20 when he passed, but every moment of being his mama was a gift. My only child, my greatest joy, my precious boy.
How Daniel will be missed
I miss the future we should have had—watching Elijah grow, seeing his dreams unfold, and all the good he would have done. I miss his laughter, beautiful smile, hugs, phone calls, texts, and the encouragement he always gave me. Being his mother gave my life purpose. He was my why, and he still is. Though his life was far too short, his love and light will not end with him. I will honor Elijah by carrying his kindness forward, helping others as he dreamed of doing, and keeping his legacy alive.
How Daniel will be remembered
I believe Elijah would want to be remembered as a loving son, a talented rapper, and a believer in Jesus Christ. He was handsome, thoughtful, kind, and blessed with a beautiful, forgiving heart. He had a sweet soul, a wonderful sense of humor, and dreams of making a difference in the world. He was a mama’s boy through and through, never afraid to show his love. Above all, I hope he is remembered for his faith, his music, the joy he brought to others, and the love he gave so freely.
