Gary Mendell, the founder and CEO of Shatterproof, released this statement:
“I commend the Georgia General Assembly, including Senator Renee Unterman, for taking this important step to improve access to life-saving Naloxone and enabling pharmacists to more easily provide it to those in need. By strengthening the state’s PDMP, Georgia continues to be a leader in addressing the deadly opioid epidemic.
“In his State of the State delivered earlier this month, Governor Deal rightfully expressed his desire for the General Assembly to tackle the state’s opioid epidemic. With the introduction of this bill, state lawmakers are turning Governor Deal’s words into action to save lives in Georgia. Shatterproof will continue to work with state legislators, including Representative Kevin Tanner, to pass this life saving legislation.”
