What Gene was like
My Dad was a very giving and loving person. He had some mental health issues and used on and off for years starting at age 12. He was sober for 16 years in the middle of being 12 to 52. He was the least judgemental person I've ever met.

My favorite memory was when he would call me and sing to me on every birthday

I miss how well he understood me and always mad me feel better.
